Elopement on O’ahu

Olivia and Perion’s elopement on Oʻahu was one of those days where everything could have gone either way, but somehow it all came together perfectly.

Leading up to it, the weather was really unpredictable. It had been stormy, and we weren’t even sure if their elopement location would be open. But when we arrived and saw the gate open, it felt like such a relief. One of those moments where you just know it’s going to work out.

It had been raining right before they got there, but as soon as we made it to their ceremony spot, the rain eased up. It turned into the softest drizzle, nothing overwhelming, just enough to give everything that moody, romantic feel without taking away from the moment.

One of my favorite parts of this experience was getting to connect with Olivia beforehand. When we first talked, we immediately bonded over the fact that she’s a special education teacher and I used to be a science teacher. There’s something about having that shared experience that just makes things feel easy. We both know what it’s like to be in a classroom, and that connection carried so naturally into the day.

Their elopement itself was simple and really sweet. They were surrounded by their family, and the whole atmosphere felt calm and meaningful. Nothing felt rushed or overcomplicated. It was just about them and the people who matter most.

Their officiant, Marry Me Hawaii, did such an incredible job. She always has a way of weaving Hawaiian culture into the ceremony in a way that feels thoughtful and intentional, and it added so much depth to the experience.

Olivia and Perion were so present with each other the entire time. Even with the uncertainty leading up to the day, they just embraced everything as it came, and that made such a difference.

It ended up being one of those perfectly timed days, right in between storms, where everything aligned just enough. Being there to capture it all felt really special, and I’m so grateful I got to be part of it.
